Checkin' In

Happy Wednesday! Just checking in. I've been working on a couple of special orders and also finishing an afghan I started a very long time ago. I've been so busy with orders and Mally that I haven't gone to Michaels or Joanns for so long, I didn't notice that Martha Stewart has a line of yarn out. I saw the line on LionBrand.com and they're amazing! Very affordable for the material, can't wait to get my hands on them.
Also, I've been trying to figure out the hubs' new phone. I just want to play Bedazzled! Why can't all phones be easy to figure out like the iPhone?
Someone is spitting out his water all over himself so until next time!

SOS!

Hi all! I'm still here, toiling away at this 'blog'. I've been working on a different format and trying to do fancy things but they are just not working for me! Maybe I should start over with a clean, fresh layout. Things to think about.

I've also created a facebook page and twitter. Which will be up once I figure out how to put them on here...
So, good things are coming, I promise!

Toddler Tuesday

Hi! Been working on more earrings! I really need to time myself because these darn things are taking forever.
In more fun news, we took our little man to an ECFE class. ECFE stands for early childhood family education and classes start from birth to preschool. I've always intended to go since he was born but things got busy. So now that we've got mornings free, I signed us for a 9am toddler class. I loved it! Except for the early morning wakeup, I loved it. LM is the oldest and I'm afraid he's a ball bully. He's had a love for balls for the longest time, bouncy balls, basketballs, baseballs, whatever he loves them. It doesn't even have to be an actual ball, it could be a picture of a circle and you hear, "BALL! BALL!" Yeah, he was snatching balls out of everyone's hands and I felt awful because I didn't want people to think anything negative about him being a ball stealer. Is that a first time parent feeling?
For 30 minutes the parents for together to get to know each other and discuss what we'd want to learn in this class. For the getting to know each other part, we asked each other about what our hobbies are. Kind of embarrassing but my hobby turned out to a plug for my etsy store. My face probably turned beet red. One thing you have to know about me, I am very shy. Almost painstakingly awkward shy. Meeting new people is hard and it's something I'm trying to overcome. Hopefully this class and also writing this blog will help.

Slack Off

I don't what it is but I can start any project for things I don't really need to make. But when it comes to things I need to get started, nope not going to happen. My etsy shop is begging to be opened, I just find it so boring to make these dang darn earrings! Facebook and its addicting games are to blame! Really, did we need Sims Social?

Hoo knew?

Since I've started this idea to craft for a living, I've had to make things I didn't plan to make. Like the mobile and now knit a pair of owls. I hope no one wants anything sewn next. Yikes.
I have a few ideas for the owls. 1)Pretend I didn't see the request. Hey it works for some people, they just act like it never existed. 2)Get some sweaters and upcyle them. 3) Actually knit them. Hoping it doesn't come to this, if it does owls will be completed in two years.

Let's Get It Started Already!

Things are falling into place! I finished my first commissioned piece, a woodland animals mobile. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. Yes, scatterbrained me forgot. Took me less than 2 weeks and I was 80% happy with the end result. It was for a friend's friend and I heard she loved it. What a great feeling to know that something you made with your own two hands can put a smile on someone's face.
Next, I got a PO box. I was really excited about that. Then I ordered a customized stamp, for stamping the packages. I'm nervous it's going to look ugly. I didn't spend a lot of time or effort in it so we'll just see how that turns out.
Now what I've been working on for the past two days, my business cards!! Just put my order in today, and I am loving the design!! I only ordered 250 so when I get my actual website up the old cards would be gone and I'll get to make new ones.
Right now I'm working on baby things. There are friends that are expecting boys in the next month so I'm making hats, warm slippers and maybe a blankie. Can't wait for someone to have a girl! Hopefully that will be me soon. Cross your fingers!!
